Leon Lin
Visual development artist working across AI and VFX, based in London.

I came to VFX from fashion photography and high-end retouching.
I work in the AI department at Framestore on advertising, film and episodic projects. I use Nuke, mainly for 2D compositing, along with ComfyUI and Photoshop.
The work covers clean-up, plate preparation, environments, digital matte painting and beauty work. I also build AI-assisted workflows in ComfyUI, so that generated elements can be adjusted and then composited into the plate in Nuke.
From 2022 to 2025 I shot and retouched fashion editorials as a freelancer in London. I now check generated images for the same things I checked in a retouch, such as lighting, colour, skin texture and material detail.
What I do
Visual development and VFX
Environments, digital matte painting, beauty work and photoreal image manipulation for advertising, film and episodic projects.
AI workflow development
Building AI-assisted VFX workflows in ComfyUI that combine image generation with manipulation and processing, so results can be controlled and repeated.
Compositing and image preparation
2D compositing in Nuke, including clean-up, object and raindrop removal, background clean-up and replacement, mattes and alphas, plate preparation and clean plates.
Photography and retouching

Research and development
Testing new AI tools and techniques on real production problems, and developing the ones that work into usable workflows.
